This week the Island Gymnastics Academy turns 40 years old! Happy birthday to us!!

This week we will be posting some photos and stories that tell the history of the Academy over that 40 year period.

It all started in November 1981 when two expanding Charlottetown clubs, the YMCA Saultos and the West Kent Tumblers came together, and the rest is history…..

Statement on IGA New Facility

Hello all,
I am sure many of you have read or heard in the media recently that the Island Gymnastics Academy is looking to build its new facility in the Town of Stratford.
We are pleased to confirm these media reports, and can state that an agreement has been reached in principle where IGA will lease land for a 50-year period on the new Community Campus which is being put together by the Town.
However, there is a lot of work to be done before we are in a position to move.
Funding for the new facility still has to be negotiated with various branches of government, and there will also need to be a significant fundraising campaign that will need to happen before we can move. At this point it is not possible to even estimate what the timeline will be before we are finally in a position to move.
We thank everybody for their support and patience so far. It is an exciting time for the Island Gymnastics Academy, and together we will make this dream a reality.
Sincerely,
The Board of Island Gymnastics Academy
