Any IGA alumni or board members are welcome to come by IGA on Sunday between 3:30-5pm to join in the 40th anniversary celebrations.

There will be refreshments and a display of old photos and memorabilia courtesy of Jim’s archive! Gymnasts who were in the competitive program for seven years or more are welcome to sign the Legacy Wall too. Vax passes will be checked and masks must be worn.

In 1994 Island Gymnastics Academy was the host club for the Canadian Championships, held at UPEI.

IGA hosted again in 2011.

One of the most important things to happen to IGA in the past 40 years was the construction of the foam pit in 2010.

Safe to say it has changed the way the gymnasts train, and it is hard to imagine now training without it.

The question of the Academy’s home has long been asked in its 40 year existence. Did you know this is the third time the Academy has been located at the Royalty Centre? It has also had homes at Oak Tree Place, the Charlottetown Civic Centre, and at the Charlottetown airport. Fingers crossed our next move will be our last!
